Client Service & Program Funding

JTC would like to assist a greater number of women. One-time or annual donations from corporations, foundations, service groups and individuals could help us undertake or expand specific initiatives that will help us increase awareness of JTC and enhance our service delivery.

Support for these initiatives is eligible for recognition in the 'Reaching for the Stars' donor recognition program...click here to view some of our current and past supporters.

For each initiative described below, specific branding opportunities are also available, as desired, that meet the needs of the donor.

Please contact JTC's Community Development Director by email: nanciharris@jeantweed.com for further information about how to contribute.

Initiatives Needing Support

Here are details about various projects requiring support:

Horticultural Therapy

What: Gardening is increasingly gaining acceptance as a means of therapy across many treatment areas. This project would fund the creation of a horticultural therapy component to help clients experiencing trauma and loss issues find a safe means to assist in their recovery.
Cost: $5,000

Program Expansion - Outpatient / Trauma Counselling / Family

What: Funding to add staff resources to service client populations for these vital programs, which currently have substantial waiting lists. Funds would provide for Outpatient, Family and Trauma Counselling positions to meet client needs.
Cost: $35,000-to $50,000 per position

Naturopathic Medicine Pilot Project

What: Funding to enable JTC to provide clients with naturopathic and homeopathic medicine information and resources, specifically focused on recovery from substance abuse. (This treatment option is not funded by the Ministry of Health, so it is often inaccessible to clients who might greatly benefit.) This pilot project would pay for a certified naturopathic specialist to deliver consultations and workshops.
Cost: $7,800 (based on $80/hour x 7.5 hours/week x 13 weeks)

Families Working Together

What: Funding to again deliver this landmark, 16-week program offering parenting in recovery counselling to families across the GTA.
Cost: $12,000

Evaluation Research

What: JTC possesses a wealth of data related to client demographics and client outcomes that would benefit from a rigorous analysis, in order to assist ongoing program development. Subsequent publication of this information would contribute to the growing body of best practices related to substance abuse treatment for women and their families.
Cost: $10,000

JTC Introductory DVD Revision

What: Creating an updated Introductory DVD to tell prospective clients about JTC and our programs. Also used in our public relations, fundraising and marketing kits. This is a high-profile branding opportunity for the donor, with weekly exposure at the Centre, plus inclusion in future foundation and corporate donor requests.
Cost: $15,000

Supplementing Unrestricted Operating Funds

What: Unrestricted gifts represent the opportunity for an organization to allocate resources where they are most needed. This ability to respond in a timely manner to the agency's needs can ultimately enhance client outcomes and improve the Centre's ability to meet the evolving needs of our clients.
Cost: $25,000 to $100,000
